Plate and Bowl Centrepiece

This is the lovely plate and bowl centrepiece that was on the tables of a birthday party I went to. The plate and bowl are made of clay with a porcelain finish. Whoever had the birthday closest to the birthday person won the centrepiecel!

Fruit Platter

My sister requested that we bring a fruit platter as part of the dessert for Christmas dinner. I thought I would be the only one to bring one, however, we ended up with two of them. It worked out well because the fruits on each platter were completely different, with exception of the blueberries. They were also presented in different ways.

Above is the beautiful and delicious fruit platter made by my sister-in-law's mother. It included apricots, blueberries, cherries, strawberries, blackberries, pineapple spiked with anise and some wafer sticks.

This is the fruit platter I brought to my sister's house. It included mandarin orange slices, apple rings, blueberries, pomegranate seeds, and canteloupe slices.

Halloween Party Cupcakes

This is a Halloween cake and cupcake platter I made for a potluck. I used a pumpkin shaped Wilton cake pan for the cake and a regular cupcake tin for the cupcakes. The cupcakes were made into mummies, spiders and pumpkins.

Fish Bowl Centrepiece

This is the beautiful and unique fish bowl centrepiece that my sister used for her wedding. She purchased the fish bowls and pebbles from Michael's arts and crafts store and I picked up the silk Gerbera daisies from there as well. The fish is a red colored Beta fish, (a fighting fish) which meant that she could not put another fish in there. (She originally wanted to put two fish in the bowl)

We played a game during the wedding reception to determine the winner of each fish bowl. Of course, many people wanted to take the centrepiece home, however there could only be one winner at each table. The winner of the fish also received a lovely box to transport the fishbowl in. My sister included instructions on how to care for the fish along with the box.

Winnie the Pooh Cupcakes

I was asked to bring cupcakes to a Disney themed birthday party and decided to make angel food cupcakes with a whipped cream topping and pink sugar sprinkles. The Winnie the Pooh cupcake wrappers for perfect for the occasion and I did not have to spend too much time decorating the cupcakes as the wrappers by Wilton were pretty enough.

Fit for a Princess Birthday Party Favors

These are princess purses that I filled with goodies and gave out as party favors at my daughter's first birthay party. I put a bracelet, hair clips, fruit snacks, a magic towel, flash cards and a book in each little purse. I attached a tag with the name of each little girl on the purses as the girls ages ranged from 2 to 7 years old. Therefore, the flash cards and books were age appropriate.
Some of their mothers thought the little purses were so adorable that they wished they were little girls again so that they could receive one. I guess I should have put something together for the mothers as well. I will definitely remember to for next time.
The purses were available in hot pink as well, but I chose the lighter pink as I thought they would be more subtle.
I was not able to order personalized books on time for the party, but if I had the time, I would have. One of my friends did this and the kids loved it!

Cookie Bouquets

Below are the adorable cookie bouquets I helped my niece and nephew put together as an end of the year gift for their teachers. We used icing, sprinkles and Jelly Belly beans to decorate them. They had so much fun and wanted to decorate more cookies! I bought the lovely mugs from Kohl's as they were heavy enough to support the cookie pops.
I wrapped the cookie part of the cookie pop with a small cellophane bag and tied it under the cookie with ribbon. I filled the coffee mugs with tissue paper before arranging the cookie pops in them. The teachers loved the cookie bouquets and will definitely be able to use the coffee mugs after the cookies have been eaten!
